Day 15: St. Joseph

On this Feast day of St. Joseph, let’s be reminded that in scripture, not one word from today’s Saint is recorded.

Of course, St. Joseph spoke and taught Jesus many lessons, including scripture. But, not one word is captured for us to reflect on this day.

Instead, we are left with several stories of Joseph that invite us to trust in God and to not be afraid.

Yet in his silence, we are taught another important lesson.

You are familiar with the phrase, “They will likely not remember what you said, rather, they will remember how you made them feel.”

This is worth further reflection.

How do our actions, our openness, and our gentleness speak louder than any words we may utter. How might we say less and listen more?

On this feast day, let’s be like St. Joseph, and talk less and allow our actions, our silence, and our listening reveal the unconditional love of God.
