In a time when it's easy to settle for what the world offers, Dreams Come True provides a higher standard. James Walters guides the reader through concrete, time-proven methods for discerning the unique call that God has for each of us.
Dr. Mike St. Pierre
Executive Director, CCMA
In a world that subtlety tempts us to believe that we are neither loveable nor loved, James Walters offers us an invitation to discover otherwise. By guiding us on an inner journey of self-discovery and helping us to encounter the saving, healing love of God, we rediscover the liberating truth that God invites us to dream deeply, to live in hope and to change the world with courage and purpose.

Dreams Come True isn't just written, it's curated. So many voices, so much wisdom, all opening us up to God's possibilities. It's perfect for those who stand overwhelmed before the wholeness of life ahead, and for those of us about to turn 60 who are still wondering what we're going to be when we grow up.

I had the privilege to have Jimmy in one of his classes at St. John’s University. His teachings impacted my view of the world back then as an 18 year old. This book beautifully refreshed my mind with amazing details and lessons about life and the Catholic faith. The book is curated in a way that is easy to read for those taking those small conversion moments in their lives, also for those who want a refreshing book. Easy to follow, easy to read and yet full of amazing information and stories that can make great impacts in your life...a must read for all those ready to take the next steps in their faith and deepen their relationship with God.

This book took me on a remarkable journey from a worldview that was more individualistic and ego-centered to a view of life connected to God and the divine. While I'm not very religious myself, I learned from the combination of James Walters' personal stories and the words of wisdom curated from scholars and religious leaders how to encounter the divine in others and our world. This book took me out of my own head and connected me to a powerful purpose to guide and strengthen me: how to live as an instrument of God - with god, in god, for god.
Walters also awakened me to how I am limiting myself by not dreaming big and not thinking about what I want my life to look like several years from now. I realized how I am thinking mostly about the next project and the next thing on my to-do list, and as a result I am keeping myself small. Connecting to God's purpose, to each other, to all of creation, we open ourselves up to so much more. And while that may sound hard to do, this book walks you through several easy and accessible activities to figure out how to do that in your daily life. I'm so grateful I read this book - I've started shifting my daily habits and perspective and am seeing the difference.

I purchased this book for two reasons: 1. Because I had the privilege of working alongside Jimmy during some of my time at St. John's and 2. I was laid off due to the covid-19 pandemic and have been questioning where I am going with my life. It is a great book that makes you think and pay attention more to the little things including the "signs" God gives you. I highly recommend purchasing it for yourself or anyone in your life who may need that little extra push to know God has a plan for them.
