Day 12: How Healing Works

This reflection is a part of a month-long series titled, 30 Days of Healing, as we seek to be instruments of peace and change.

This month, as we explore healing in a divided world, you are likely finding that the healing journey is a difficult, but worthwhile one.

The Facebook Page, Contemplative Monk, provided the above image today and it was worth sharing.

The journey to heal goes beyond these reflections or any simple quick fix. It takes time and work, as the pie chart reveals.

If it feels overwhelming (it does to me), it is supposed to. It reminds us that this journey is not for us to take alone.

  • Who are your companions that can accompany you?
  • Who are the professionals who can guide you?
  • Who are the people that you will invite to heal with you (knowing they may not be ready to join you down this road)?
  • Who are those that are inviting you to heal with gentle (and perhaps not so gentle) challenges to take responsibility for yourself and for others.
  • How are you welcoming God into this journey?

Take some time to consider how this pie chart can guide you to become peacefully whole.

  1. I am welcoming God into this journey each day as I pray this prayer:

“Lord, show me where you want me to go today. Help me meet who You want me to meet. Tell me what You want me to say, as I stay out of Your way! Help me be what you made me to be. Show me what you want me to do, as I walk in Your Will.”

And God is with me as He helps me navigate this path … and Walk the Talk. God is indeed with me on this journey.

Thanks for the questions to keep me alert! <3
