My Soulmate

Nine years ago, I married the love of my life- my soul mate.

My beloved, Suzie, is an amazing individual. Her love for others, her passion for justice, and her care for human dignity, makes me a better person. I can only pray that our daughter takes after her in this way (and many other ways).

An anniversary such as this provides time to stop and reflect.

As I do this today, I am overwhelmed with gratitude. I am also challenged to join her in the pursuit of love that she models and believes in every hour of every day.

The more days we spend together as married partners (3,286 days to be exact), I feel an even greater call to be a friend to those on the margins, those who do not share my privilege, those who can teach me more about God than any book or blog.

I am blessed to call her my friend. I am blessed to raise a child with her, and I am blessed to learn from her how to be the hands and feet of God.
