If there was a theme today, it was one of gratitude.
It was a longer than usual day at work, but one filled with many student interactions. Throughout the day, the words “thank you” were said often.
From freshmen reflecting on their service to those in need, to juniors to reflecting on what they are thankful for as they approach next Thursday, gratitude filled the air.
I was reminded of the following quote from German theologian,Meister Eckhart: “If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is thank you, it will be enough.”
We appropriately approach a season of gratitude, which allows us to literally count our blessings. May we take time over these days to recognize the blessings in our life, and to say a simple, but profound word of thanks.
